WHAT IS POSITIVE INTELLIGENCE?

Positive Intelligence Training is a Fitness program for your brain! It is a training method developed by Shirzad Chamine that allows us to transform the way we approach daily life (including our work) and all the challenging tasks, stresses, annoyances, and uncertainties that get thrown at us on a daily bases.

It can produce lasting positive behavior change, significantly increase your happiness and productivity, and improve personal relationships. It is as effective for your work and career as it is for your home and personal life.
The Positive Intelligence approach is extraordinarily effective because it allows us to spot and dismiss all that negative background chatter that goes on in our heads and either often blocks us from doing something well or perhaps encourages us to delay or avoid doing it. According to this training program here are 3 core muscles of mental fitness:

  • saboteurs interceptor muscle

  • the sage muscle

  • and the self - command muscle.

Those are muscles that need to be trained in the same way as any other muscle of the human body. Strengthening these parts of our brain allows us to develop the ability to identify and respond calmly to the many little things that otherwise trip us up every day.

These unhelpful thoughts are so called “Inner Saboteurs”. Everyone has them! Usually we know them as our “inner critical voice” which can be overwhelmingly loud. Sometimes we don’t know why we react the way we do. Only by reflecting, do we recognize that there is a possible pattern to our way of reacting to things – a pattern that weakens us each time we follow it. It is a pattern that might have been useful in the past but now is not anymore – the “I must”, “I have to”, “I need to”.

Science and different studies have proven that doing mental fitness on a daily basis leads to more happiness, self-confidence, and fulfillment. It improves performance and productivity and leads to a calm, clear, and happy mind. Negative emotions that come up can be turned into positive emotions and positive thoughts more easily.

Positive intelligence uses two powerful metaphors to illustrate these oppositional aspects of your thinking. Your Saboteurs are represented as hijackers, seizing control of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (all of which normally happens just outside your awareness until you learn how to spot it). The Sage is like a Jedi Knight, taking powerful, calm, wise, positive control of any thinking or task you need to do.

The Positive Intelligence program works by effectively putting your mind in the gym. You train your mind to build up the mental muscles. The daily practice in the PQ gym rewires certain neural pathways in your brain, ending unhelpful old thought patterns and creating positive new ones. You will learn how to intercept your own Judge and to shift to your Sage.
